Middle Earth Map
The Shire: The Shire was an area settled exclusively by Hobbits and largely removed from the goings-on in the rest of Middle-earth. It is located in the northwest of the continent, in the large region of Eriador and the Kingdom of Arnor.
Bree: Bree was a very ancient settlement of men in Eriador, long established by the time of the Third Age of Middle-earth.
Rivendell: Rivendell was an elven outpost on the river Bruinen, home to Elrond and Arwen.
Lothlorien: Lothlorien was an elven realm next to the Misty Mountains and the river Celebrant. It was enchanted to keep the evil of Sauron out using Galadriel's ring, named Nenya. Other names: Lorien: "The Land of Singing Gold", Laurelindórinan "Land of the Valley of Singing Gold."
Isengard: Saruman's stronghold, destroyed by the ents of Fangorn forest.
Rohan: The land of the horses, near Gondor, settled first by Eorl the Young.
Gondor: The greatest kingdom in Middle Earth, ruled in the Fourth Age by Aragorn!
Mordor: The stronghold of Sauron, the servant of Morgoth.
The Far East: People of Harad; were on Sauron's side during the War of the Ring.
Mirkwood: The dark, evil forest between the Anduin River and Laketown, home to Legolas and his father Thranduil.
Dale: The dwarf city ruined by Smaug the dragon.
Fangorn: The old forest inhabited by ents, living trees created by Yavanna to protect the trees.
Esgaroth: The long lake on which Laketown is built, overshadowed by Erebor, the Lonely Mountain.
The Mines of Moria: The pride and glory of the dwarves, now destroyed and desolate, infested with orcs and fell beings such as balrogs. *scream and run everyone*
Misty Mountains: Mountains which divide Middle Earth in half. The most prominent of them is Caradhras, also called Redhorn. Aragorn and his company tried to travel a pass through it, only to face a severe thunderstorm. They rerouted and went through The Mines of Moria instead.
